On an unseasonably warm day in February 2023, a friend and fellow artist and I went to Fort Fisher, Kure Beach, NC to get some beach reference photos for paintings. We found a secluded spot where the waves were crashing on the rocks in big sprays. I felt fortunate to capture this amazingly large splash and just love the darkness of the sand as it exploded up in the wave’s core and how it contrasts with the white foam spray.
A dynamic ocean wave crashes against a large rock on a sandy beach, resulting in a dramatic splash of white foam. The sunlight glistens off the chaotic water droplets, capturing the power and beauty of the sea.
